Charity-of-choice donation option built into 2010 Aviva Community Fund site
Benevity Social Ventures, Inc. (www.benevity.org) is pleased to announce that it has been chosen to embed user-directed charitable donations into the 2010 Aviva Community Fund competition www.avivacommunityfund.org.
The Aviva Community Fund: Now with Optional Charitable Giving
The Aviva Community Fund launches for its second year on September 27, 2010 and Aviva Canada Inc. has committed to give $1,000,000 to fund the winning ideas for community change (which can be submitted by anyone in Canada). New to the Aviva Community Fund this year is the ability for site visitors to give to any registered charity that is the subject of an idea submission. Benevity will power the donation processing and tax receipting functionality for the Aviva Community Fund site.
This competition continues to truly reinforce our mission to help the neighbourhoods where our customers, employees, brokers and partners live, work and play, everyday. Adding donation capability to the Aviva Community Fund to enable people to support causes that are important to them is a natural extension of an already engaging, participative model for community investment,” said Paul Fletcher, Senior Vice President.

Our vision is that soon, giving back to the community or cause of your choice will be as easy and prevalent as leaving a tip at a restaurant,” said Bryan de Lottinville, CEO of Benevity. “Aviva Canada is the first insurance company to adopt our software, and their decision to embed a user-empowered giving platform into the already powerful Aviva Community Fund is a testament to their appetite for continued leadership and innovation in corporate philanthropy. The possibilities for use of the platform in other of their employee and customer-facing applications are exciting to consider, and represent a powerful new grassroots paradigm in social giving for financial institutions."
Benevity has developed North America’s first embeddable microdonation platform, enabling socially responsible businesses to engage their customers, employees and corporate partners in optional charitable giving on their terms. Benevity lets companies integrate user-directed, tax receiptable donations and corporate matching programs into their existing transaction environments, using their own brands and systems. The Benevity platform helps companies build authentic and impactful cause marketing, workplace giving and other social responsibility initiatives that increase engagement, brand differentiation and return on social and community investment.
